The works for part of a major new scheme for North Tipperary County Council (NTCC) to supply the town of Thurles and its environs with potable water.

  • Construction of 10,000m3 Insitu Concrete Service Reservoir and Control Building
  • Construction of Pressure Reducing Building (1,700 sq ft)
  • 50,000m of 250mm-600mm  diameter Ductile Iron Gravity Water Main
  • 5 no. CIE Railway Crossings by Trenchless Technology
  • 5 no. River Crossings by Trenchless Technology
  • Installation of Booster Pump sets
  • Cross connections to  existing network
  • Air Valves, Hydrants, Sluice Valves, Scour Valves, Flow Meters and Pressure Control Valves
  • Reinstatement of lands and Roads

The scheme involved the extension of the Kilkenny Ring Road linking the east of the city to the north of the city.
 

  • Construction of 4.2km of single carriageway
  • Diversion of 1.2km of mainline railway
  • Design & Construction of 4nr Bridge Structures
  • Design & Construction of 2nr Underpass Structures
  • Construction of  5nr roundabouts
  • 600,000m3 of excavation & disposal
  • 12,000m of carriage way and earthworks drainage

Completion Date: November  2004
Description: This project consisted of 1.5km of single carriageway construction for the Wyckham Bypass to facilitate the construction of the Dundrum Town Shopping Centre:

  • 1.5km of single carriageway
  • Upgrading and signalisation of 2nr existing junctions
  • Installation of 3,000m of footpath.
  • Construction of 3km of Stone Walls
  • Installation of 1,500m of Surface Water Drainage Systems.
  • Installation of 1,500m watermain and utility services
  • Accommodation Works and Landscaping.
  • Public Lighting, Signage and Roadmarkings

Description: The works for part of a major new scheme for North Tipperary County Council to supply the towns of Newport, Birdhill and Ballina with potable water.

  • Construction 2no. In-situ reinforced concrete reservoirs
  • Construction of 11.35 km of Ductile iron watermain from 150mm to 200mm
  • Upgrading of existing live Water treatment buildings and facilitates
  • CIE Railway Crossing by Trenchless Technology
  • 6no River and Culvert Crossings by Trenchless Technology
  • Installation of Booster Pump sets
